Jossie Haines, Executive & Engineering Leadership Coach

Guest Speaker 

Jossie Haines is an executive and engineering leadership coach focused on empowering high performing leadership through empathy and compassion. Her mission is to retain women in tech and break the statistic that 56% of women leave tech after 10-20 years by empowering engineering leaders with the effective and fair management practices and principles needed to finally more the needle.

She has spent over 22 years in the tech industry as an award winning software engineering leader at the forefront of emerging consumer technology across Silicon Valley, including management roles at Apple, Tile, Zynga and American Express.

She was most recently the VP of Software Engineering & Head of DEI at Tile where she had grown the engineering team by 45% from 29 to 55 in 5 months during COVID and led all software engineering efforts across mobile, backend, web, and QA. At Apple, she had led the Siri music team during the development of the HomePod, as well as the Siri media team who won a technical Emmy for the Siri on Apple TV integration. She is also an avid public speaker, having given over 100 talks, workshops and podcasts on retaining women in tech, engineering leadership, DEI and various technologies.

Sammy Herbert, Head of Developer Experience at SixPivot

Guest Speaker 

Sammy is the Head of Developer Experience at SixPivot, an Australian based consultancy specializing in .NET application development and cloud consulting. Sammy works with executives to redefine best practices for software developers. She works on everything to do with improving the developer experience from research, strategy, testing and trying again. Working a spectrum of initiatives from internal mentoring all the way to 4-day work weeks.

Sammy and her work have been recognized in the Australian Financial Review's Best Places to Work in Technology and won numerous awards in employee flexibility and diversity & inclusion.

Sammy is passionate about community and regularly speaks at events, panels and conferences. She actively gets involved in diversity and inclusion, having previously consulted with numerous companies all of Australia on their inclusive strategies. In her personal time she’s an organizer for Muses Code JS, one of Australia's largest coding workshop for women, non-binary and trans folk.

Kayla Pitts is a professional voice artist with a background in psychology. Based out of New Hampshire, she is currently Head of Membership & Marketing at WiV. She eagerly finds storytelling and ways to transform images and events into a richer, deeper experience for our huge audience. Her creativity in images, copy, and videos have propelled our community to new heights.
